Position Overview
Reporting to the Marketing Manager, the Marketing Coordinator is responsible for various consumer and community marketing initiatives and will support the marketing and administrative needs of all SMTT departments. We are looking for an enthusiastic, organized individual with a strong attention to detail and a desire to learn. Duties will focus primarily on website content management, email marketing, local business outreach, project management of departmental marketing requests, providing executive level support to Chief Executive Officer for specific projects and leading marketing campaigns as assigned.
Website Content Management

Update content and Events Calendar on
Publish blog posts regularly
Update business specials pages with new submissions from local businesses
Update content pages as needed

eMail Marketing

Build and deploy emails to various audiences using SMTT’s email marketing system Constant Contact and CRM system SimpleView
Ensure SMTT’s CRM system and Constant Contact are updated and optimized

Marketing and Administrative Support to CEO

Draft agendas and minutes for Board of Directors Meetings and Tourism Marketing District meetings
Build and Deploy Board Communication email every other month using Constant Contact
Drafting and posting items related to Board governance on
Create calendar appointments and Zoom meetings for Board of Directors meetings and Tourism Marketing District meetings
Ad hoc CEO projects as needed

Local Business Promotion Support

Conduct outreach to local businesses, collecting information and offers to promote on
Maintain Partner Portal on via internal database and liaise with local businesses who wish to optimize their presence.

Social Media

Support Marketing team’s social media management goals by engaging with various audiences, moderating channels and scheduling posts


Provide marketing support to SMTT departments as needed (Business Development, Santa MoniCARES – SMTT’s nonprofit foundation, Visitor Services, Operations)
Create electronic form process using Formstack
Represent SMTT at virtual community events and tourism industry functions. Occasional nights and/or weekends may be required.
Provide general marketing department support as needed.
Assist with errands as needed for the organization at SMTT administrative office and to various locations throughout Santa Monica.
Assist organization in carrying out all programs, projects and special events as needed.
Requi rements

Bachelor’s Degree and at least 1 year of professional work experience.
Ability to develop working timelines and project management tools.
Strong customer service and business etiquette skills.
Reliable, responsible, honest and trustworthy.
Ability to take ownership of projects.
Excellent time management skills.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Good organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
Strong proofreading skills.
Experience with CMS, CRM and email marketing platforms a plus.
Working knowledge of HTML coding a plus.
Excellent computer skills with knowledge of Mac applications and office computer software including Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Experience working in a professional office environment.
Must be free to travel locally as needed to carry out SMTT goals.
Knowledge of Santa Monica is a plus.
